Why is Writing so Hard?!

I've got the full 3rd draft done for Awakening: Hunter’s Gambit, and I'm roughly near the end of chapter 8 out of hypothetically 18 chapters (whose number count is off because I restructured the whole thing and added a bunch of chapters near the start).

I'm almost done the first act, which actually means nothing in the grand scheme of things. I have two chapters left to write, but that could take 2 weeks or 4 months depending on how picky I get with the structure of the chapter and the way the narrative is flowing.

The current chapter I'm on is slipping past the 2-month marker. Most of the time I wish my 'good enough' bar was lower. Much lower.

The good news is I am officially back in the writing saddle and I'm writing 4-days a week. Since April, I've been tacking on 15-mins writing time to reduce resistance, while also doing 30-mins of thinking time, which is used to work out the details of the chapter or story. AND HO BOY! Were there details to work out!

I'd like to think that I'm at the point now where I can start thinking about the details of the next chapter. I also hope that the next chapter goes faster than this last one.

For the month of June the goal is 1.5 hrs a day Tue-Fri (because Monday is business day), but I've been routinely putting in 2hrs of writing time. My ultimate goal is to write 4-hrs a day 5-days a week, but that means I need to hire a house cleaner, and a VA to handle my admin stuff. *sighs*
